Examining Necessary and Transitive Faith in the Qur’an

D. M. Khaled Elsayed Hassan This paper examines the concept of “faith” in the Qur’an, attempting to reconsider the transcendental meaning of this term, which is believed to have been lost in favor of traditional interpretations that reduced it to belief. The research starts from the premise that “faith” in the Qur’an does not only mean heartfelt belief, but it is an act that gives security to others and manifests itself in practical behavior. It aims to expose the historical use of this term in the service of political and religious purposes that limited its original meaning.
Importance of research
The importance of this research lies in rehabilitating the original meaning of faith as a transgressive act, which can fundamentally affect the understanding of the relationship between man and society in the Qur’anic vision. The researcher believes that the absence of this meaning has led to heritage perceptions that separate faith from its social and ethical practices, which has affected the religious and political reality in Islamic societies.
